Packed with great craic, outdoors activities and lots of hilarious giggles, by the end of the day you’ll know your churn from your bucket and your Siege of Ennis from your Step Dance. In short, it’s the perfect way to spend an afternoon together, as you all toast the bride-to-be and help her get certified as a bona-fide wife in the making!

Each month, we’ll go through the A-Z of the Farmyards Wife Preparation course, looking at all parts of the experience and of course the serious business of cutting it as a fully-fledged, highly skilled wife!

A is for Afternoon Tea.
Expect to sit down and indulge in delicious scones, sandwiches and lashing of hot tea after your fun filled day out on the Farmyard, as you giggle about all the craic you’ve had and marvel and how your best friend is now a fully-fledged wife-to-be!

 

 

B is for Butter
Any self-respecting Farmyard Wife will know just how to make butter from scratch for her husband! Well we’re not saying you’re going to ditch running to the shops for your pack of Kerrygold in the future, but at least you’ll know how hard the wives of the past had to work to churn fresh milk into butter!

 

C is for Catch the Cock
Ladies! Get your mind out of the gutter, we mean catching our resident friendly cockerel [what is the cockerels name?] under the watchful eyes of the hens of course! A top skill for any wife-to-be!

 

D is for Dressing up
Ah yes, no fun filled afternoon on the Farmyard’s Wife Preparation Course would be complete without some dressing up fun. While it’s not obligatory, why wouldn’t you want to dress the wife-to-be up in all manner of outfits! We’ve seen them all from feather boas, to plaid shirts, to Amish style dresses, to celebrity farmer’s wives looks and more. Just don’t forget those wellies, the brighter the better!

 

 

E is for Encouragement
Getting behind the Hen is a big part of the day ladies, she needs encouragement as she learns all the crucial skills for becoming a wife, from chasing the Cock, to milking the cow and of course kneading homemade brown bread! Lots of cheering and encouragement is a must, so bring your voices with you ladies.
